Green Coffee Buying and Book Management
Forecasting, sourcing, budgeting, quality management and roast profiling for blends and single origins for coffee roasters and white label roasters. Green Coffee Sample Evaluation
Physical and sensorial evaluation of a green coffee sample with a complete lab report. Think of this as a more robust and modern alternative to CQI or SCA lab evaluations utilizing additional observations and proprietary methods. This can be a good starting point for further work as a coffee producer, importer or exporter as well as useful in resolving disputes between two parties in a contract. Roast Curve Evaluation + QC
Blinded sensorial analysis coupled with roast curve analysis with a goal of achieving a client’s roast goals (whatever they may be). Typically, this will consist of two or three rounds of iterations following the initial review and discussion and also includes roast color analysis. Postharvest Quality Management
I work with coffee growers, coffee processors, exporters and importers to manage postharvest practices including fermentation design, drying systems, storage, lot separation, milling, experiment management, sampling and ongoing QC. Coffees processed using postharvest processing protocols I wrote were featured in WBC (2021); placed #1, 2, and 4 in the Cup of Excellence in Ethiopia (2024); and won the Best of Rwanda (2024). Facility, Equipment and Program Planning
From coffee shops to roasting plants, I have experience in design-build and project management to ensure that the facility is set up to meet the needs of your business, delivered according to expected timelines and budgets (This can include recruitment, hiring and training of key staff).
